Training roots residence
Training can be your route to getting your papers. We help you check that your course is valid and submit the application without mistakes.
What it involves
Training arraigo (arraigo socioformativo) is a residence permit for foreign nationals who live in Spain without papers and commit to completing a training course. It allows you to regularise your situation while you study and, in many cases, to work within certain limits. When you finish the training, you can move to a residence and work permit.
Is this your case?
- You live in Spain without papers and want to study a vocational training course (ciclo de formación profesional).
- You want to obtain a professional certificate (certificado de profesionalidad) in hospitality, care work or mechanics.
- You have already enrolled, but you don't know whether that course is valid for arraigo.
- You are finishing your training and want to change to a residence and work permit.
How we help
Before you enrol, we check that the course and the school fit what the immigration authorities require, because the wrong course is one of the most common reasons for refusal. Then we prepare the application with your enrolment document and the rest of the evidence, and follow it through to the decision. When you finish your training, we support you in the move to a work permit. We can help you in Spanish, Arabic, Tamazight, French and English, at our offices in Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Málaga and Barcelona or online, wherever you are in Spain.
When you finish your studies, we help you with permit modifications; and if you have a job offer, consider socio-labour roots residence.
Frequently asked questions
- What is the difference between training arraigo and a student stay?
- Training arraigo is for people who already live in Spain without legal status. A student stay is usually applied for from your country with a visa, or while you are legally in Spain.
- What kind of course is valid for training arraigo?
- Not just any course will do: it has to be one of the types of training accepted by immigration rules. Before you enrol or pay anything, we check with you whether the course you have in mind is valid.
- If I already have a job offer, is training arraigo better for me?
- Not always. With a genuine job offer, socio-labour arraigo may be more direct. We compare both routes according to your situation and choose the safest one with you.
