Corporate tax

Corporate income tax is your company's most important tax return each year. We prepare it carefully so that you pay what you should.

What it involves

Corporate income tax (Impuesto de Sociedades) is the tax that companies pay on the profits they make. It is declared once a year on the basis of the accounting result, with the adjustments set by tax law. In addition, many companies have to make instalment payments on account (pagos fraccionados) during the financial year.

Is this your case?

  • Your company has closed its first financial year and you do not know how to file.
  • You think your company is paying more tax than it needs to.
  • You have made losses and want to use them in the coming years.
  • The Tax Agency (Hacienda) has sent you an assessment for a previous return.

How we help

We review the accounts, expenses and transactions with the partners to apply correctly the adjustments, deductions and incentives you may be entitled to. We prepare and file the return and the instalment payments, and we explain the result to you clearly. If you or your partners have ties with another country, we take that into account too. We can help you in Spanish, Arabic, Tamazight, French and English, at our offices in Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Málaga and Barcelona or online, wherever you are in Spain.

If the Tax Agency asks you for explanations, we help you with tax office requirements; and to close the year, with the filing of accounts.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between corporate income tax and IRPF?
Personal income tax (IRPF) taxes the income of individuals, for example that of the self-employed; corporate income tax (Impuesto de Sociedades) taxes companies' profits. If you have a company, it pays its own tax and you are taxed separately on what you receive from it.
Does a corporate income tax return have to be filed if the company has made a loss?
Yes. The return is compulsory even if there are no profits or there has been no activity. Declaring the losses may also allow you to offset them against future profits.
What should I do if the Tax Agency sends me a letter about corporate income tax?
Don't ignore it, because there is usually a deadline to reply. We review what they are asking for, prepare the documents and reply on your behalf.
