Registered address change

If your company changes address, it also has to be updated on paper. We take care of everything so that no formality is left pending.

What it involves

Changing the registered address (domicilio social) is the formality for updating your company's official address. As the address appears in the articles of association, it is normally agreed by the partners or, in some cases, by the director. It is then formalised before a notary, registered at the Companies Registry (Registro Mercantil) and the new address is notified to the Tax Agency (Hacienda) and other bodies.

Is this your case?

  • Your company is moving to new premises or a new office.
  • The company's address was at the home of a partner who is no longer part of it.
  • You want to move the company to another city or another island.
  • Official letters are going to an old address and you are missing notifications.

How we help

We check who must approve the change under your articles of association and prepare the resolution and the new wording of the articles. We coordinate the signing before the notary and the registration, and we file the change of tax address with the Tax Agency. We also remind you of the other places you need to update, such as Social Security, the town hall or your contracts with customers and suppliers. We can help you in Spanish, Arabic, Tamazight, French and English, at our offices in Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Málaga and Barcelona or online, wherever you are in Spain.

If you take the opportunity to make other changes, we also help you with a change of director or with tax registry changes.

Frequently asked questions

Is the registered address the same as the tax address?
Not always. The registered address (domicilio social) is the one in the articles of association and at the Companies Registry (Registro Mercantil); the tax address (domicilio fiscal) is the one held by the Tax Agency (Hacienda). In many cases they are the same, but when you change one it is worth checking the other.
What happens if I move and do not change the company's address?
Notifications from the Tax Agency, Social Security or the courts may be sent to an address you no longer use, and you could find out too late about a fine or a claim. It is best to update it as soon as possible.
Can I move my company to another province or another island?
Yes, the registered address can be moved anywhere in Spain. If the province changes, the competent Companies Registry also changes, and we take care of coordinating the two registries.
