What it involves

Accounting (gestión contable) means recording and organising all your business's financial transactions: what you invoice, what you spend and the assets you buy for your work. As a self-employed person you have to keep record books (libros registro) that the Tax Agency (Hacienda) can ask for at any time, and your tax returns are based on those figures.

Is this your case?

  • You keep your invoices in a box or on your phone and never know how much you have really earned.
  • The Tax Agency has asked for your record books and they are not up to date.
  • You want to know whether your business is profitable before hiring or investing.
  • You are buying a van, a computer or machinery and don't know how to record it.

How we help

You send us your invoices in whatever way is easiest for you, on paper or as a photo, and we record and classify them. We keep your books up to date, check which expenses are deductible and give you simple reports so you can see how your business is doing. We use those accounts to prepare your tax returns, so everything adds up. We can help you in Spanish, Arabic, Tamazight, French and English, at our offices in Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Málaga and Barcelona or online, wherever you are in Spain.

With your accounts up to date, we file your quarterly tax returns; and if you have a company, we offer full business management.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between accounting and record books?
Record books (libros registro) are the lists of invoices, income and expenses that a self-employed person has to keep for the Tax Agency. Full accounting is more detailed and is compulsory in some cases, such as for companies. We tell you which one you need.
What should I do if I have lost expense invoices?
Ask the supplier for a duplicate as soon as possible. Without an invoice, in general you will not be able to deduct that expense. We help you set up a simple system so it doesn't happen again.
Can I move from self-employed to a company without losing control of my accounts?
Yes. When your business grows, it may make sense to set up a company. We review your figures and, if you take the step, we continue to keep the accounts for the new company.
