Tax forms
The Tax Agency has a form for everything and it is easy to get lost. We tell you which ones are yours and take care of filing them.
What it involves
Tax forms (modelos fiscales) are the official forms the Tax Agency (Hacienda) uses for each tax or procedure. Each one is identified by a number and has a specific purpose: notifying your registration, declaring VAT (IVA), paying personal income tax (IRPF) in advance, or reporting your transactions and the withholdings you apply. Which forms apply to you depends on your activity, the way you are taxed and whether you have employees or rent premises.
Is this your case?
- You have been given a list of forms and don't know which ones are compulsory for you.
- You have been told you have to file an informative return and don't know what it is.
- You pay rent for your premises and nobody has explained to you that the withholding has to be declared.
- You have filed a form with the wrong details and want to correct it.
How we help
We draw up a tax calendar tailored to you, with the forms that apply to you according to your activity. We fill in each form with your details, check that everything matches your accounts and file it electronically with your authorisation. We send you a copy and explain what each result means. If you made a mistake on a previous one, we prepare the correction. We can help you in Spanish, Arabic, Tamazight, French and English, at our offices in Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Málaga and Barcelona or online, wherever you are in Spain.
If you want the full picture, see your tax obligations; and to file online you will need a digital certificate.
Frequently asked questions
- What is the difference between a tax return and an informative return?
- In a tax return you calculate a tax and, normally, you pay or get a refund. In an informative return (declaración informativa) you only give information to the Tax Agency, for example about your transactions with clients and suppliers, without paying anything. Both are compulsory if they apply to you.
- What should I do if I have filed a form with a mistake?
- It depends on the mistake. If you have paid too little, you file a supplementary return (declaración complementaria); if you have paid too much or the mistake works against you, you request a rectification. We review it and choose the right route.
- I don't really understand the Tax Agency's technical Spanish. Can you explain it to me?
- Yes. We explain each form in your language, in Arabic, Tamazight, French, English or Spanish, so you know what you are signing and what you are filing.
